Default a ram question

the board i currently have is a gigabyte k8nsc-939 with low quality, mix matched ram(1 333, 1 400 chip). now i know my board can support the 400 ram but my question is can it support this http://www.silverpcs.com/product/KHX4000-512. will it just clock down or not work at all, i am getting a great deal on this ram

any help, thanx

it will just downclock to 400 instead of 500.

its rated at 500 so you can Overclock to those speeds without worrying if your ram can support it.

Yes, it will underclock itself to the lowest RAM speed.

Hopefully you arent going to put this new RAM with your old stuff, due to the underclocking...

I hope you are able to get 1 GB for less than $72. If you arent overclocking, there is no point to getting that RAM. You can buy 2x512MB on newegg for $72. You wont notice any difference between budget RAM and that HyperX, unless you overclock.
