ram question

hey I have a question about memory. if i get a board that supports up to pc3200/ddr400 , will a higher speed ram work (ex pc3500) and if so, will it actually be faster, or will it simply run at the speed the mobo supports?

It will run at the max that the board supports, in this case, 400 MHz no matter what, by default.

You can overclock to get it past the boards default speeds.

some boards can support speeds over 400MHZ, some can't

most newer boards can support speeds over 400MHZ
