Hello, My question is how can I tell if a PC 100, 168 pin DIMM is ECC or parity? Are they normaly marked on the stick? I am having problems with the ram and was wondering if maybe I have the 2 kinds mixed together. I have 3 sticks in PC 2,64s and a 32, all PC 100. I got a PC 100 128 stick and it is a Parity type and it won't work properly with it installed. In setup I can set PC for one or the other but I assume the 2 types can't be used together. I guess I should have done some reading before I got the DIMM, at the time I didn't know there was different types, I thought PC 100 was all the same. TomW

Hi again, I did some searching on google and found a nice artical on parity and ECC on DIMM sticks and what it means and what it does. TomW

Hi microbell, I was reading in motherboard book and it says there is a changable setting for parity or ECC. What is the newer stuff using now if not ECC? Tom W
