ram problem?

Hi, i bought a new computer a while ago and i'm finally getting around to working the bugs out of it. You could say it's a big one. Everytime i play a video the program either quits right away or after a little while, or sometimes the computer just forces a reboot. I'm thinking it's an issue with the ram, but i'm curious as to any other ideas people have. I also have this problem while playing music rarely. Thanks for any advice. It's an asus board with an amd xp 2600 and 512 mb ddr ram. an ati all in wonder 7500 video card and the rest of the components are on board.. thanks again

Try the usual routine of making sure you have the latest drivers, for your graphics card, etc.
