Default RAM Memory

Please consider me stupid when it comes to jargon and technology.

While looking for memory upgrades for my computer, I noticed there seems to be a difference between "Computer Memory" (I guess that is regular memory) and "Flash Memory". Could someone explain the difference(s) please? Can they be mixed (if there is any such thing)?

I have seen brands (regular I guess) such as Ultra and Kingston. Are they top quality brands? If not what would you suggest?

Please PM me in response.

Many thanks!!!

Flash memory is removeable memory that you can use between computers, camera's, printers ect.

Computer memory is RAM and you have to open your case to put it in, and unlike flash memory your system uses this to store stuff temporarily.
