RAM clocking

if I have a laptop that takes pc100 RAM....will it work with a higher speed RAM? I mean will it like automatically underclock it or something?
cuz I cant find any good RAM for pc100....but i see plenty of 512's for better ram...

you could get like pc166 or somethign like that, but it will be downclocked to pc100.

I'd check with your computer's manufacturer, see if they have a page that lists all the information about the motherboard and such, but I'm not sure if it would work though.
