Ok, so i have an old computer here that i am interested in speeding up a bit. the only prob is it was custom built so crucial.com doesnt help. It started off as a p2 166mhz and was upgraded to a p3 700mhz processor. It is running win98. Right now it is slow as ever and for really cheap i figured i would upgrade the ram. Right now it has one 64mb PC100 sdram 168pin chip. You think i can just throw in a PC133 128mb sdram chip?

or can i just pop in any PC100 sdram chip, u think it will be compatible... ah i wish i knew what i was doing when this was built in 98, i could have answered these questions already...

aight, i have the exact specifications of the chip, i suppose i can match it up perfectly and it should be fine...

you should use pc100, but if you use pc133 it will simply run at pc100. your memory will be automatically underclocked. i would buy whichever memory is the best deal no matter if pc133 or pc100.
