i have 256 of generic pc 2700 in my computer 1, i want to get PC-3200 256mb 184-pin DDR SDRAM Corsair ValueSelect and make it 512 total. will this be a good combo or should i buy a 512 corsair pc 3200 stick and sell the old stick?

you definetly want to go with two matched (same brand and amount) sticks. I have had probs in the past with mixing ram sticks. Although I do only use one stick of 512 but only cuz one of the two mem banks on my mobo is not working right.

also make sure your mobo is compatible to take pc3200 mem.

im gunna sell my 256 pc 2700 ddr generic and get a pair of 2 x 256 mb 3200 kingston valueram or something.....

dont get 2x256... get 1 512, so u can get a 2nd lata.. u wont get any advnatage on getting 2, as u dont have dual channel. and itl be cheaper prolly to get 1 512.

ok, really, 1x 512 kingston valueram, but i do have 3x dimm slots with a max 3gb ram, so i can upgrade later.
