Hi, I have an ASUS P5N-SLI motherboard. I need to upgrade the ram in it. It says that the supported speeds arePC2-4300, PC2-5300. does that mean that pc2-4200 memory wont work in it? same with pc2-5200. Thanks

yep.. because pc2 4200 and pc 5200 are laptop memory... it won't fit in your DIMM Slot..

but for the desktop ones... they still have 240pins.. they can work..

Yes. I has to be DDR2 667 PC2-5300 or DDR2 533 PC2-4200. You might consider getting some DDR2 667 ram though, not the 533 in the link.

some mobos seem to work with pc2 4200 even if they just say pc2 4300... but his situation may vary... ASUS P5N-SLI I think isn't one of em... get the normal kind..
