To me, upgrading seems like a nuclear arms race to fight the frame-rate war in future games.

I don't really care whether a game runs at 30 or 100 fps; whatever I define to be completely playable is fine for me. Anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering are only seen as extra rewards when they produce the desired outcome of performance. The average player running a mid to high end machine doesn't enable such features before starting a game up, nor even know about them.

I'll just hang on to the Hercules MDA thank you.
 
I completely agree to that, a Radeon 9600 XT WILL be enough for me if I were to but a new PC now, and I'll hang on to it until it cannot play the games I want to play in future
 
But if you're a person with a legacy card, then yes, it is time to upgrade...
 
I have an Nvidia MX440 64MB:eek: , not exactly the best card,but I think I'll upgrade to one of Nvidia's or ATI's new video cards coming out in about a month,because i've got the cash.
