quiter chassis fan?

my chassis fan produces a little humming sound.
it isnt annoying,but i just want to know if there is a way to make it go quiter...like maybe - is it okay to lubricate it inside?

i just realized that it is not the fan itself that is making the humming.
but it is the contact with the case.i think it is something like a vibration sound made because of the contact.
im planning on putting some rubber to act like a gasket between the fan and the case.

will that work as a buffer to the sound?

cardboard or layers of scotch tape will do . you can actually lower the voltage that the fan uses. so that it'll run at lower rpms..and lessen noise and vibration.
