Default Quiet Server???

Does anyone have experience with any quiet server besides Dell PowerEdge SC400?

I have the need for a very quiet server for my personal use, therefore it is going to be inhouse.

I have heard many people praised Dell PE SC400 as a quiet server and people use it as a personal computer as well.

But I would like to know any other servers that fits in SC400 class.

Thanks.

personally I would build it myself, you get a better computer for less that way

how much are you planning to spend on it all?

for a server CPU, I would suggest anything from a single Opteron 24x or 250 to an 850 - although the 850 is really expensive, like $2200 aus per CPU

Default budget issue

Guys,

I need a server for my personal use and my website doesn't have much daily traffic.

The Dell PowerEdge SC400 is only about $400.

You guys are talking about big bucks if custom build a server.

I also need to take software/hardware compatibility issue into considerations as well if I go with custom build.

What type of hardwares are supported by Windows 2003 server OS? I do not think any computer can be a server when it comes to compatibility issue.
