quick router question

I am installing a Linksys Wirless Broadband router. It is only connecting 4 computers straight from the dsl modem. do i need to install the software package that comes with the router or am i good to just hook it up and let it go?... they just want to use the automatic dhcp setting which is the basic set-up for the router

If your DSL connection does not require PPPoE to be setup then you should be fine. Make sure you reset the modem.

here's the new problem. I hooked the router up and set up with to auto-config with DHCP... I'm connected to 5 windows 98 machines (i know...it bad, but it's for a customer) and everything appears to be working. i can connect to the modem through the router, and i can ping any website i want and it goes through. yet i cannot go through the router and get onto the internet. What am i doing wrong?
