Default questions-please help

i was looking at monitors and i was wondering if DVI-D and DVI were the same thing? also i was wondering if i needed a modem in my new computer cuz i dont thing i need one? and one more thing what is D-sub?

well dvi-d is digital only, but dvi-i can have a dvi-vga converter to display a vga signal as well... i THINK.

thanks for the info...so if my video card has both (VGA and DVi) I could use either or?

Use one or the other. DVI is the best, but you have to have the right cable and video card for it.
