Greetings folks!

I'll soon be traveling a fair bit, and purchased a used notebook and a (new) portable printer, a Canon i80. This is my first portable printer, so my question is - how "safe" is it really to haul a printer around with a notebook? What I mean is, will the ink leak? Will the print head need realignment after every car trip? Stuff like that.

The product manual only mentions two relevant things - "do not store or transport with the rounded edge down", and "do not shake ink tanks". So I'm wondering - as long as the printer is oriented in the travel case so it is only either lying flat or with the rounded edge UP, would that be okay? Could all you folks with experience carting around a portable printer chime in with some advice and tips?

Thanks!

I have only som experience with transporting printers from my home to our summer house (app. 250 miles) by car. I have never had any problems.

I guess you should be allright.
