Question about PS/2 and usb extention cables and wireless keyboard/mouse combo

I know the whole thing about a wireless keyboard is to get rid of the wires. But the reason i want the combo is to use from my bed so that is fine with the wire. The question i have is will extending the cables from the reciver affect it in any way at all? The combo i plan on getting is the Logitech LX 700. thanks for you help. i am planning to get it soon so the faster the reply the better for me. Thanks again

so want you want to get a extection cable that connects to your wireless hub.
