Default Question about installing a Graphics card with out CD.

Yeah got a quick question, I have a spare computer that i am going to be giving to a buddy, He has a ATI 9800 pro that he wants to install into it. Only catch is he dont have the install CD for it. My question is, im going to install a fresh copy of windows when i take it to him, so if i just put the card in before i install windows, can i just download the drivers and walla it will work? Or is there sumthing on the CD it needs?
