i just built a quick replacement machine
its a
2400+ barton core
512 megs of 2100 DDR overclocked to 2700
geforce 4 ti 4200
2 x 20 gig seagates
gerneric sound card ect

besides the video card i am either not sure if i should up grade in a month or add to this machine and if upgrade amd 64 or pentium 4.

When you upgrade, won't you just be adding to the machine?

To answer whether you should get an AMD 64 or Pentium 4, it depends on what you're using the computer for. The AMD 64s are faster and better for games (usually cheaper too), while Pentiums are generally better for video editing and that type of stuff. Hope I helped.

20gig seagates? couple of games/prgrams and you're out of hdd space...

I'd wait till the socket 939 Athlon FX'es show up ;)
