ok guys i sent it back to newegg so there $15 down the drain and just received my new CRX320E today. I put it in, and the same **** happens. Just spins the cd. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

hmmm alright.

DFI WT70-EC motherboard.
56k fax modem, Some decent souncard, some decent vid card(all 3+ yrs old but do their job fine) and a Linksys Network Adapter
Toshiba DVD rom SD-M1612
(Had an HP 8x4x32 which this SONY IS REPLACING)
3.5 Floppy
Samsung 40gb HDD on slave(old HDD that is useless now really but is still in here because it had old stuff on it but the boot sector got messed up so there is also a....
WD 40 gb HDD.
1.4Ghz Processor P4
300w power supply
4x128 of Rambus

Just a guess, make sure the IDE cable you're using has the red stripe (on one end of the cable), closes to the power supply. I know that affects floopy drives often, may be worth a try with you.

Do you have Roxio/ or NERO ?All the sony`s ive purchased come with Nero .Try installing 1 of those programs to get it to work.

this sony came with powerdvd and nti cd maker.
this was an oem drive.
