Hi,

I know that different PSU's are better and worse than each other, but i was wondering why?

What makes a 400 watt cheap0 PSU worse than say, something from Antec, or thermaltake?

I have heard from others that crappy PSU's can make componants hot? Is is that bull?

My old 400watt cheap0 PSU worked fine for me, though was a tad noisey. It never randomly reset my PC or anything, but i bought an Antec Neopower 480 anyway just for the sake of it.

I was just wondering thats all :p

basically what to look for in a PSU is something in the 20's min on the 12v line. If you a power user you want something in the 30's.

A 16ms or more hold up time

voltage regulation at a bare minimum of 5% the lower the better.
