How can u tell what processor type you have? Prescott/celeron/Northwood

Download and install CPU-Z, that should tell you everything you need to know about your CPU.

sorry, shoulda been more specific....i meant just by looking at it

A celeron says on the front somewhere 128k example 2.4/400/128k

A prescott says something like 2.8/800/1m

and a northwood says something like 2.4/800 (or 400,533) /512k

Basically a Celeron has 128k cache
A Northwood has 512k cache
A prescott has 1m cache..

Make sense???

Also celerons should say celeron right on it.
