go with the 64 bit it will beat the p4 in almost every aspect of performace as for the future yeah I wouldent wory about getting the distant future though windows xp 64 will be here before your computer is even close to becoming out dated ..I am running a 64bit windows xp os right now

The 3200+ beats the 3.2 P4 by a hair in games, but otherwise they are pretty equal, with the P4 on top
