Problem installing cd-rom drive

Ok, so i switch mobo's, and i go to plug my hd in ide1, and my cd-rom drive in ide2... when i boot up my computer, it detects nothing in ide1 and ide2. But when i plug only the hard drive into ide1, and don't plug the cd-rom drive in, everything works fine.

where have i gone wrong?

chek your cd-rom jumpers make sure its on master if on seperate channel or set it to slave if on the same channel as hdd
