Prescott vs Northwood

Hey guys. For 3.2 GHz clock speed, which Intel CPU is better. Prescott or the Northwood.

Also, I couldn't really find any mother boards that have PCI - Express and socket 478.

Prescott are better. Northwoods arent crap but they arent as good.

Doesn't the Prescott run hotter than the Northwood at the same clock speed (3.2 GHz)?. But the performance increase (if any) is neglible. Some benchmarks seems to say that the Northwood actually runs faster in some cases. Am I missing something?

Prescott is hotter and runs slightly faster than the Northwood. However, a Prescott has better ocing capabilities. You can usually get about a 1 GHz oc with minimal voltage icnreas on a Prescott, where as on a Northwood it is arduous to get a 400 MHz increase.
