What is the main importance of having a high-powered PSU?

Some people's PC's in their sig are pretty high-performance, with just a 300W PSU. What's the point of having a PSU that has more wattage? More room for sound/video cards?

That's their poblem. Higher wattage PSUs are SUPPOSED to obviously give more power and allow for more reliability in a system. Of course, there are many companies like TT, who have 600W PSUs that are total **** and are outperformed by 400W PSUs made by a reliable company.

I personally wouldn't go with an 'unknown' bran such as Wintech. My rule of thumb with PSU's. If i've not heard anything about a company, I don't buy their PSU (unless extensive googling has been done).

I couldn't find much info on your psu. But from what I found it actually looks like a pretty good psu.

ehh,

as long as it's going to last for another 2-3 years, i'm happy. That's how long my current computer will hopefully last.

Quality before wattage.

Quality before price.

You get what you pay for with PSU's.

QFT:)

Also avoid flashy PSU's....they tent..to..erm...explode....

Also the heavier the better.
