power of external devices never off

when i turn the computer off i noticed that none of the external devices is actually turned off. Keyboard, scanner, gamepad, etc all are standby (little lights are on).
What can be the cause of this problem?

it's not a problem at all.

yes it is because its using up power=money, and its not normal

Then turn them all off manually...get a surge protector and hook them all up so they all turn off with the flick of a switch.

And yes, it is normal.

Well...maybe its normal...at least with some mobo's it is.
My bro has a Celeron800MHz, no idea what mobo and his mouse etc stays on. My dad has MSI kt3v mobo with AMD 2000+ I think and his devices turn off. My own comp is very old and everything is turned off with the power button.
