power button on the keyboard

ignorant me just found out that there is a power button my keyboard which when i press shut downs my pc.

is this a standard button on all keyboards, ignorant me has never come across this button before.

is it some function built into windows xp

I've never seen a keyboard like that... Not even on the newer blue tooth keyboards....

I have a sleep button. And I hate it . I usually keep my k/b on my lap b/c my damn desk doesn't have a keyboard tray. And sometimes the button gets pressed by my desk when I keep it on my lap. Very annoying..

lol how does it work? Just push POWER and it shuts down without you having to go to start>turn off>Turn off basically does all that, don't know if it's 'built into winXP' i just know I press it and computer goes off
