Is it possible to use a separate psu to run a vid card??

^well all it is doing is telling the psu that the mobo power button was pushed and it needs to turn on to power the system, it's not really bypassing safety protocols or anything. But I'm with everybody else, but a good psu.

The only time I have seen dual PSU's was in a server an i have only seen it once or twice. Just get one good PSU it's not worth experimenting for a solution in this case unless you knew exactly what you where doing an made sure everything was safe from a electrical safty standpoint - you wouldnt like a shock or death now would you.
