Plz read: Thermal paste

I just got my AMD 64 3200+ and it came with some white stuff on the heatsink, is that the thermal paste? if so is it enough?

The white stuff is indeed thermal paste. If your looking for better paste, get Arctic Silver 5 and stuff that removes existing paste and Surface Purifier (the former two comes together)

It is good enough if your not going to overclock.

Normally, the "stuff" that comes on the heatsink is called a ( THERMAL PAD ). They aren't too bad, from my experience. BUt, if you are planning on Overclocking, Remove it and apply AS5.

Yeah if their's a pad that's a thermal pad and that's good

If it's white stuff (looks like thick milk) this is paste and good enough.

Still better to order some artic silver 5 for future though.

Both the thermal pad and paste are much better than what you asked if you could use on MSN
