The pentium M assuming you will take a slightly lower peforming PC in trade for battery life

If your going for performance, the Pentium M. Its extra 256 will help you along.

Of course, you could just upgrade the ram in the Sempron... but that will cost... $100?

I'd go Sempron, upgrade to 512 corsair SO-DIMMS (Assuming it supports it... I dont know), and then sell the extra stick.

Thats me, and I just glanced. Your preference.

And dont upgrade without asking acer if you can.

I've looked for batteries for the Acer Aspire 3000 series, but nothing. The tiny 4 cell pack gives power for 1.5 hours on optimal conditions. That is bad. Could I get a 8 or 12 cell possibly?

you can get extra batteries I think...

No clue though. It would proabbly be expensive, to the point where you might as well buy a more expensive laptop.
