http://anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2388

Intel is expected to release "Pentium D", their dual core solution within the next few months. They have choosen to unveil consumers CPUs first however, and leave server solutions for a later date.

The Pentium D will be availible from speeds from 2.8 to 3.2GHz, as well an extreme edition variation called the Pentium XE 840.

I remember reading that with dual cores software companies would start to charge twice the license fee for software applications. For example, if you owned a dual core system, they would charg you twice the fee for, say, Windows. That would be especially so on server systems. But after a battle, Microsoft has formally stated that they would not charge twice the license for dual core systems. But thats not to be said for other software manufacturers...
