In my never ending quest to bug you guys with all my questions about items I want to buy I come to you with this:Pentium D
The new 64 bit dual core pentium. Are there any reviews or tests done with it yet? Do we know how it performs? I'm drooling over the fact that it's dual core and 64 bit. And only 320 bucks! What do you guys think?

What about the new 64 bit P4? How does that stack up against AMD? It's under 300 bucks on Newegg and I don't have to buy a new mobo.

the 64 bit intels are a lot buggier and not nearly as smooth as the AMDs

What's wrong with yoru current p4?

In Source any dual core intel would be a hellofalot slower

Why would it be slower in Source?
I just want a dual core 64 bit cpu for the future. Intel is cheap, X2 isn't out yet and I don't need a new mobo for the intel.
Of course I will also be buying the 7800 this year also.

You would need a new mobo anyways, since you need new mobo's for dual core intel's
