Which is better for gaming, The pentium 4 on .13 micron technology or the pentium 4 on .09 micron technology? I dont want to hear about AMDs in this post, just about my question?

The .09 micron P4 run a lot hotter and I know they are better at video editing, but when it comes to games they're pretty much even. I would choose the Northwood because of its lower power consumption alone.

Until they stop the prescott from heating up crazy, northwood is the way to go.

From what I've been hearing around these forums and from others is that the Northwood (.13 micron) have been out performing the prescotts (.09 micron) at lower speeds, about 2.0-2.8 but as you're reaching higher speeds the prescotts overtake the northwood and out perform them from 3.0 and up.

I have both a 2.6 northwoods and a 2.8 prescott both w/ HT. I can't really tell a difference between the two, when it comes to gaming. The 2.6 is a really stable, rock solid chip and if you pair it with a good intel board such the d875pbz you can't go wrong. save a little money and go for the northwoods.
