Pentium 4 530J motherboard chipset..... a bunch of crock or legit?

I'm looking into purchasing a Pentium 4 530J but they say it requires the intel 915 or 925 chipset on the motherboard.

The motherboard I want (ASUS P5P800) has the Intel ICH5 and Intel 865PE. So, will the processor not work correctly or at all?

Is the Intel chipset just a reccomendation? Must I have the 915/925? I really need to know as soon as possible.

Thanks,
Rocky

No you can use any of the older chipsets provided that they have the right socket and the BIOS supports them. I have a P4 630 on an 865PE/ICH5 and it works fine.
