Unhappy PCI slots vs. AGP

The motherboard in my computer has no AGP slots. It's a Biostar M6VLQ if it makes a difference. I do some gaming, nothing too serious. Would I be further ahead getting a new motherboard with the agp slot, or are there decent pci cards out there. I've been told that pci cards aren't any better than onboard video. Any advice would be appreciated.

AGP is a LOT better than PCI and is dedicated solely to graphics cards, hence the name "Accelerated Graphics Port"

however, agp is soon to be replaced this year by PCI Express...grr and i need a new computer now

Thanks. Now that you mention it I remeber reading something about PCI Express somewhere. Maybe I'll just go with a cheaper pci card for now and see what happens when PCI Express is released. It should drive the prices down maybe?
I'd rather spend less and have older technology than sleep outside with my blazing fast puter.(At least in the winter. I do live in Canada eh!!!!!!)

yeah, wiat a couple months for PCI Express. AGP will be cheaper, and if you win the lotto, you could buy the next ATI 10,000,000XT.
