Default PCI Express-Nvidia or ATI

Hello all:
I am considering building a PCI Express system that I want to stay current for a 3-4 years. I am troubled over the decision of a graphics card:
NVIDIA: XFX GeForce 6600 / 128MB DDR / PCI Express / VGA / DVI / TV Out / Video Card $189.99
ATI: GIGABYTE ATI RADEON X800 XT Video Card, 256MB GDDR3, 256-Bit, DVI/VIVO, PCI-Express, Model "GV-RX80T256V" -RETAIL $531.00

Can anyone help me out?

I suggest waiting a bit for AMD's motherboards to get PCI-Express
the Athlon 64's are more future proof than Intel's CPU's right now, with 64-bit

Send a message via AIM to Nvidia fan boy

I would look at the 6800's instead, but to answer your question w/ the cards mentioned i would go for the x800. Still though for pcx go for a 6800 card.

Iwould go for a 6800 pci ex if it exists (please enlighten me) if not then the 6600.

Also I dont think ATi has mastered the art of PCX very well from what I have seen so far.

You could also wait for SLi a little more expensive but double overall performance.

6800 ultra PCI-E
the price is a bit steep but I think its worth it against the X800, not that the X800 is a bad card
