2006 is the word. See here. What makes it hard for AMD is the onboard memory controller. I believe that will make it that new chips will be needed to run DDR2 rather than just a mobo change like needed for an Intel.

Well when they go DDR2 if at all, all they would need is a new socket and a new chipsit.
