I have a xp running box with 256 MB DDR SDRAM pc2100, with 400mhz FSB, I am trying to fit another stick of 256 MB pc2700 will my board run fine with it. They both are from different vendors like generic ones.
I hate experimenting with differn't brands espessialy generic. But yes it should work, just not optimly. The ram will only run at pc2100 though. The ram circit runs as fast as the weakest link so as long as pc2100 is in there the pc2700 will not work at pc2700 but pc2100 frequencys
