Maybe the Windows XP cd as got starches or something like that mine was like that and it also freezed but not in the same place as you.

Mine freezed like that when the CPU wasnt seated right.

I have set default options on my bios and nothing happened, made sure cpu is sitting right and nothing changed, XP cd is in great conition with no scratches.. what i think i gotta do is format the HD... how do i do that.. i know i am suppose to get a 98se startup disk and then do a partition an then format.. but where can i get a 98se startup disk if i have only xp, and how do i partition tyhe drive??..

Thank God is fixed now!!.. the problem was the CD-ROM, some how i tried two different ones and they both were making the pc crash, then i tried a brand new one i got from my frien and it worked just fine!!.. now the PC is up and running.. Yeah BABY!!!
