Default Partition Magic 8

i have a 160 gig western digital hard drive, just formatted it and began a new setup w/ xp, and i have upgraded to sp1

i want to make some partitons, but partiton magic will not allow this; when it restarts the computer and proceds to begin the process, it aborts giving the error " 1523 Cluster Beyond End"

I have no idea what this means or how to remedy the situation. :'(

run scan disc to fix any errors. try again

or reformat, and use the xp cd to make the partitions, it is on the same page as "to install xp on the selected partition, press enter"

pick "to create a partition, press c"
