If he removes the HS&FAN and cleans and reapplies AS5 he's not going to know if that was the problem for a good 100+ Hours. It's takes that long for the AS5 to set properly.
Using a Zalman7700 will give you a great drop in Temp. for sure. It's probably on of the best Aircooling solutions. With a perfect application of AS5 you'll be running 40-42IDLE - 55LOAD.
WARNING: If you are going to buy the Zalman 7700, make sure you visit http://www.zalman.co.kr/ and make sure that your mobo is supported with this HS&FAN. Due to the huge size of the fins, some mobo's lose ram slots.
