Default optimal temperature for my graphics card?

i got the leadtek geforce fx 5900 lx, runs at around 32 (surface temp) and 37-8 (edge temp) whats a optimal temperature for the card to run at?

how do you check surface temp? =/

I have the 5950 U and it runs at about 35 - 40 when playing a game but averages at about 20 when not.

P.S this is the core temp displayed in the in built monitoring program. Don't know about surface and edge temp though??
