What's the difference between the Opteron 250 for the workstation and the AMD 64 FX-53? Is it just that the Opteron sports DUAL cpu posibilities? My computer will be for gaming, just wondering if the Opteron 250 (not dual) should even be considered over the FX series?

I was under the impression that the Opteron was a server processor... don't really know much about them but I do know that the FX series is very nice, especially the new socket 939 fx-53. If you can afford that thing, i would get that.

All I can really think of is that your right about the Dual CPU support, because they do run them in Quad formation for servers
