I am recieving a new dvd-+rw this holiday season. Right now in my pc i have a plextor cdrw and a dvdrom. Which drive in my case should I replace? I have four 5.25 bays and the other two are being used by my audigy 2 pltm and a fan controler.

I am thinking of getting rid of the dvdrom, but the cdrw would have a higher resale value.

Thanks for your input.

Keep which ever is faster.

I did the same thing, however i got rid of my DVDROM as opposed to my CDR.

This way, I can use Multi Burn feature with nero. 2 disks at the same time in under 4 minutes...amazing.

You should decide what you do more, if you watch more DVD movies keep the DVD drive, if you do more cd burning kep the burner. This way you will save wear and tear on the new drive.

AND_YOU_ARE,

IMO
new dvd-+rw - Use this for writing dvd's
old dvd rom -Use it to play dvd's,copy dvd's,copy/play cd's ..etc

I like the dual burners, but i do read alot of dvd and cd discs. I am thinking of canning the dvdrom. But I still have some time to figure it out.
