I have a similar problem. My buddy asked me to fix his computer because it wouldnt boot up. It would get to a certain point and stop. It wouldnt even let him boot in safe mode before locking up. I took his HD home and slaved it to mine. I can start up just fine with mine as the master, but when I try to run windows from his hard drive it wont load. I tried going to windows explorer to copy over all his songs onto my drive before I formatted his, but when I try to open his My Documents it says access denied. All he wants is that I transfer over his songs before I format it, but it wont let me access his My Documents.
