Oh my god ... I have made a BIG CPU/Heatsink mistake!

Right okay everything is set to order soon ....

...... still one problem!

I still have my OEM one 'welded' to it.

maybe if I take the mobo out it would help more?

any advice?

This also happend to me, very carefully pry the arms/latches holding the heatsink down with a screw driver if you do this right you can get the heatsink off

Okay ....... first i'll save up for a heatsink/fan then once I am ready to order i'll sort it then once the h/sink is off i'll leave it and use my other computer till the new stuff comes.

What temp should I get?

Wow that's a powerful fan! Yeah it looks like it's gonna be pretty loud. I have no idea what temps you'll get, but they'll be lower than the stock cooler anyway. Remember you only need a tiny bit of Arctic Silver.

If the stock HSF is still stuck to the CPU, try gently prying it off with s flatheat screwdriver, be VERY careful, only pry a little at a time on each side until it comes lose.
