Occasional restart during boot

Hi there,

About six or seven months ago I purchased a GB chip for my comp. I think it might be faulty, but I am unsure.

Sometimes when I restart my comp or am starting it up XP will begin to load, and then the computer turns off and begins to restart. Occasionally the XP loading logo becomes frozen, and I then have to do a hard reset.

Also, when I've been using my comp heavily and go to restart, it almost always happens.

Please tell me if you think I need new ram, or if you have any other suggestions.

Disable restarting when an error accurs, in>>>>Control panel>system>ect ect.

i just had this same problem when i installed new ram, for me it turend out that the latest bios update didn't go over to well with everythign else so i downgraded it to the second latest release, works fine now
