The GeForce FX 5700/5700 Ultra was designed to compete with the ATI Radeon 9600 Pro/XT performance-wise. Not only is the Radeon 9800 Pro a faster card, but turning on bandwidth-eating features such as anti-aliasing or anisotropic filtering doesn't impact the performance as much.

9800 Pro.

That one is a no brainer.

For future video card info, check out www.tomshardware.com

Really good comparisons and benchmarks made there, and is probably one of the best and most famous PC component websites out there.

why dont you get a cheap card now ( say a 9600xt for $200 USD at newegg) and wait until they release pci express cards, then you can get a better mobo and an even better card.
