Not sure if this belongs here: problems moving/renaming .avi files

The files keep saying "filename is not valid" whenever I try to add the file to the program I use to burn and transcode my movies, and when I right-click theres no "rename" option available. I cant even cut or copy the file and paste it somewhere. Whats wrong?

Are you putting in other characters? Such as punctuation etc...
If it's a load of downloaded movies you've got, then i'm guessing there's a lot of superfluous crap in the name. Perhaps try typing the name simply?

you may also want to look at convert the avi files to something like divX files as ive been hearing more and more complaints about people not being able to burn avi files in their standard format.
