Noisy DVD burner

I recently installed a new DVD burner drive. Everything works fine except it makes a loud noise when I boot up, usually when there's a disk inside. The noise just aint normal, sound familiar to anyone?

A fan inside a DVD burner? :amazed: I don't think any new burners have fans. The old ones sometimes had fans.

Sounds like either a warped disc, bent spindle, or motor bearings going out.
